    2. The use of such a seam ie. width and a half, is considered acceptable. (Not according to Daniel your carpet layer who inspected the carpet today, another lie)

The carpet selected is a 4m wide product. The room however is wider than a roll and as such requires seams. The seam was placed away from the main door which is considered to be the main traffic area.

    1. Peter has attended the site, checked the seam and found that it is satisfactory. (Peter lied to you, he said to me he would get it fixed)

Thanks to Rod and Peter and their laying team for carpeting our entire house. They were very professional and so helpful during the whole process.

The short join you can see near the fire place is known as a cross seam and is there because the fill piece is in two sections. The room is therefore described as a “width and a half” due to the dimensions. To complete the fill in one piece is not considered economical as the grain (pile direction) of the carpet must run all the same way. In fact having a fill completed in 3 pieces (One third width) is consider normal. In this instance the fill has been completed in two pieces. (Maybe normal for a your house Rod)

    3. Joins in carpet, particularly low loop pile carpets, can be seen and are not invisible. When carpets are new,  the thickness of the joining tape (between the backing of the carpet and the underlay) can cause the seam to peak. Over time, traffic on the carpet may help the seam bed in and the seam may not as noticeable. (If this is the case it's bad practise which backs up my stance that you have botched up the carpet in my house)

As there is no fault with the materials as supplied and fitted, no further action will be taken by Choices Flooring. (Rod, you either have two faced staff who lie or you are delusional)

Thank you for your reply, I understand you made an economical choice suppling and installing the carpet. Unfortunately as a customer your standards are not in tune with our expectations in delivering a quality result. Perhaps in the future you may ask the customer if they would like a join to be obvious and visible , then when they say no deliver what they want and expect.

Very disappointed with this company. Unprofessional having no showed on 3 separate occasions and delivered a very unsatisfactory result and the owner is ok with that. Its a shame the companies management didn't listen to their carpet layers who had to admit it was a poorly conceived job. Sadly it's just another example of poor workmanship from a company who don't accept responsibility and just rip us off.

There will be no recommendations from this household and indeed will be advising the new owners of your ‘economic’ delivery and shoddy workmanship. There is an upside for us, no more waiting for your staff who no showed on 3 appointments. We will get a professional company to install new carpet to our satisfaction.
